The Language of the Forest: Designing Our Soundscape

The forest is never silent. Our score layers live mridangam and edakka with recordings gathered from the Western Ghats — cicadas, rain, the distant call of a hornbill.

Sound design is its own act of storytelling. We wanted the audience to feel surrounded, as though the stage had grown roots into the hall.
